Hello and a very warm welcome to another of my financial sites, which I hope will explain everything you need to know about financial spread betting – not simply which companies offer what products and how they all compare, although I’ll cover this in detail for you as well, but much more importantly the risks and the opportunities that this form of trading offers. Spread betting in the financial markets has grown almost exponentially in the last few years. The main reason ( I believe ) is the underlying simplicity, which attracts many novice investors who have little experience of trading in general, and see this as an easy way to start, which undoubtedly it is! However, just like a rocky coastline, beneath the waves lie hidden dangers for the unwary, and if you rush in too quickly, with no clear plan or understanding of how spread betting works, then you will lose not only your initial deposit, but probably a great deal more. So please take time to read this site carefully, as I have been asked many times to produce one, so finally here it is! I hope you find it useful and above all helps you to understand how the spread betting markets work. I firmly believe financial spread betting is an excellent tool for all types of traders, whether novice or experienced, but you have to understand the underlying risks before you start, so please don’t make the mistake of thinking it is easy – it isn’t. What is easy is opening an account, and then losing all you money. Hopefully this site will stop you doing the first until you are ready, and the second in due course!

In addition there is also a live economic calendar which provides details of all the major economic announcements across a range of markets, and finally the TV video channel provides 3 updates a day on the currency markets.
